Liguria International s.c.p.a., a company belonging to the FI.L.S.E. (Finanziaria Ligure per lo Sviluppo Economico) group, was established in 2002 and is partly owned by the four Chambers of Commerce in Liguria. Regional Law n° 28 of 13/08/2007 recognised Liguria International as a regional policy implementer in the internationalisation area and co-ordinator of the players in the local economic system. The company works together with other regional policy implementers, especially as regards territorial marketing, tourism and agriculture, and closely co-ordinates with local authorities, trade associations, industrial districts and enterprise consortia. The company develops specific promotional programmes in the driving sectors of the Ligurian economy as directed by the Regional Council and in the framework of the agreements established with the Ministry for International Trade and the Italian Foreign Trade Institute.
